Wanted to let everyone know of a local, upcoming fundraiser on Valentine's Day. The Hollywood Lions is partnering with The Community For Positive Aging, and will be serving up a pancake breakfast!  

Our next happy hour will be next Thursday January 15th from 5pm-7pm at Clyde's! We have some booths in the back by the stage reserved.

Hello & Happy Holidays!

I hope you are all doing well :-) In the past, I have enjoyed having our December happy hour at Clyde's. However, I have been having a hard time getting in touch with management to reserve a table large enough for us and with time running out, I had to redirect. Instead, I have secured a larger corner booth that will seat 15-20 easily on Thursday December 18th from 5pm to 7:30pm at the Ambassador Lounge located at 4744 NE Sandy Blvd Portland, OR 97213

Hey all!

Fall is here and that means our annual Halloween Happy Hour is near! As always, we will be hosted by Don at Aunt Tillie's Deli inside 42nd St. Station from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday October 30th. Costumes are not required, but do add to the fun!  Any questions, do not hesitate to reach out and ask! I look forward to seeing you there.

Also, The Star News is offering an advertising promotion this winter in case any of you have advertising needs for your business or organization.

This month we will be meeting at Black Water Bar, which has recently opened in the old Laurelwood Brew Pub location at 5115 NE Sandy Blvd Portland, OR 97213.

Join us in the heart of the Hollywood District for one of Portland’s most beloved traditions—the Junior Rose Parade! Taking place right in our neighborhood, this joyful, family-friendly event brings together local schools, marching bands, dancers, and creative floats in a celebration of youth, community, and Portland pride. Don’t miss the chance to line the streets, cheer on our talented young participants, and experience the magic that makes the Hollywood District shine each year.

Our next scheduled happy hour will be Thursday May 22nd at Sonder Listening Bar. Below is a link to direct you to their menu and their address is listed below as well (located at the end of the US Bank parking lot in Hollywood District).

We are scheduled to have our first Hollywood Boosters Lunch in a while!

This will be held at The Ambassador Lounge Wednesday May 7th at 12pm to 1pm.

Members of the Royal Rosarians will be coming in to talk about the Rose Festival! As always, we have participated in the Junior Rose Festival Parade, which will be on Wednesday June 4th, 2025. Mark  your calendars! We will need Porta-Potty sponsors and volunteers to help monitor the parade. Jan will be bringing sign up sheets. Please contribute any way you can! 

We will also be meeting with TriMet to see the latest updates on the Hollywood Signage Project, the original one at the transit center is being removed for the new development going on.

Just a reminder that our annual St. Patrick's Day Happy Hour is this Thursday at Aunt Tillie's Deli from 5pm to 7pm. Don't forget to wear green!
