Positive Aging Health & Wellness Fair
The Community for Positive Aging and the German American Society of Portland invite you to the Positive Aging Health & Wellness Fair, a free community-wide event celebrating and supporting older adults throughout Portland and the surrounding communities.
Rooted in a mission to advance positive aging, the fair will bring together older adults, caregivers, family members, healthcare providers, and community partners in one welcoming space. Attendees will have opportunities to connect with local organizations and access preventive health services, screenings, vaccinations, health education, wellness opportunities, and resource-navigation support.
The event is designed to promote healthy connections and engagement, strengthen community relationships, and celebrate the many strengths and contributions of older adults. It will also help connect attendees with resources that support continued independence, health, and well-being.
A key goal of the fair is to advance health equity by helping ensure that older adults from all backgrounds—especially members of BIPOC and immigrant communities—have access to culturally aligned information and services.
Sponsorship Opportunities
Organizations are invited to support the fair and connect directly with more than 800 older adults, caregivers, and family members. Sponsors will receive visibility through event marketing, newsletters, social media, and on-site recognition while demonstrating their commitment to building a healthier, better-connected community.
Sponsorship also helps reduce barriers to health information, community services, and wellness opportunities for older adults throughout our region.

Celebrating Generations of Partnership: U.S. Bank’s Grand Reopening in Hollywood
Please join the Hollywood Boosters in celebrating the grand reopening of U.S. Bank’s beautifully renovated Hollywood District branch!
U.S. Bank has been part of the Hollywood District’s story for generations. Before moving into its current building—which dates to 1934 and was formerly home to fellow Hollywood Booster Yaw’s—U.S. Bank served the neighborhood from a building on Northeast Sandy Boulevard now occupied by another Booster, the Taekwondo school. If you look near the top of that building, you can still see the word “BANK”—a lasting reminder of its history as a U.S. Bank branch.
Throughout the years, U.S. Bank has been a loyal Hollywood Booster and an important community partner. The bank has supported our neighborhood businesses and helped make cherished traditions such as the Junior Rose Parade and Festival possible.
Its significant investment in renovating the Hollywood branch is another meaningful vote of confidence in our neighborhood and the future of Portland.
During the grand reopening, U.S. Bank will also present the Hollywood Boosters with a generous donation to support our Hollywood Clean + Safe Program. This contribution will help fund ongoing trash and debris removal, neighborhood monitoring, and other work that keeps Hollywood cleaner, safer and more welcoming.
Come tour the renovated branch, enjoy snacks and refreshments, connect with neighbors, and help us celebrate a business that has given so much to the Hollywood District.

Hollywood Theatre Centennial Celebration – 100 Years of Movie Magic
Celebrate 100 years of Portland’s historic Hollywood Theatre during a week of films, special events, and community celebrations honoring the theatre’s centennial.
Centennial Week runs July 10–17, 2026, culminating on the theatre’s official 100th anniversary on July 17.
Throughout the week, the Hollywood Theatre will host a variety of special film screenings, anniversary events, and community celebrations for movie lovers of all ages. Visitors can also learn about the Hollywood 100 Challenge, a year-long celebration encouraging attendees to experience more of the theatre’s screenings and events throughout 2026.

Independence from Hunger Campaign
Every year, Grocery Outlet runs a month-long (or longer) food drive from June 24 through July 31 called Independence from Hunger.
Each Grocery Outlet selects a local organization to receive the food and monetary donations raised during the campaign. For the past few years, the Hollywood location has partnered with The Community for Positive Aging, and they’ve been wonderful to work with.
This year, their goal is $15,000—double what they raised last year. It’s an ambitious goal, but I believe we can reach it with the support of our community.

Junior Rose Festival Parade

Annual Neighborhood Planter Cleanup
Join the Hollywood Boosters Business Association for our annual spring cleanup! We are gathering to refresh our neighborhood planters and keep our community corridors looking vibrant.
What to Bring: To help us make the biggest impact, please bring your own:
Gardening gloves
Small gardening tools (trowels, hand pruners, etc.)
Yard debris bags (if you have them)

I hope you are all doing well :-) In the past, I have enjoyed having our December happy hour at Clyde's. However, I have been having a hard time getting in touch with management to reserve a table large enough for us and with time running out, I had to redirect. Instead, I have secured a larger corner booth that will seat 15-20 easily on Thursday December 18th from 5pm to 7:30pm at the Ambassador Lounge located at 4744 NE Sandy Blvd Portland, OR 97213
Halloween Happy Hour at Aunt Tillie's Deli & Pub

Fall is here and that means our annual Halloween Happy Hour is near! As always, we will be hosted by Don at Aunt Tillie's Deli inside 42nd St. Station from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday October 30th.
