There's always something happening in Hollywood! Every Saturday morning from May through November 17th you can load up on fresh fruits and veggies from local growers and merchants at the Hollywood Farmers' Market. Hollywood is home to the Junior Rose Parade and the annual Veteran's day parade also. Every third week of the month, Hollywood is home to Third Thursday, where businesses stay open late offering free live music, sales and specials, treats and fun contests, trunk shows, story times for kids and more! Casino Night happens once a year and is the largest fundraiser for the Hollywood Boosters. A host of sales, film festivals, trunk shows, concerts, and much more will keep you busy throughout the year. Explore what's happening in Hollywood by clicking on the links below. The Hollywood District is looking a little bit cleaner and shinier these days. That's because Hollywood Booster volunteers and others from the community sweep through the business district the second Saturday each month. Everyone's welcome. Just wear your grubbies and bring some gardening tools and debris bags.

 Historically Casino Night is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Boosters. Hollywood businesses donate prizes, ranging from gift baskets to gift certificates for dinner. Gamblers “purchase” prizes at the end of the evening with their winnings.

Since its inception, Portland's Rose Festival has included a children's parade. The first Rose Festival in 1907 included a parade of 2000 boys and girls representing 23 schools! Hollywood is the home of the Junior Rose Parade, which became official in 1936.

The Hollywood Boosters, one of Portland's oldest and largest neighborhood business associations, was been an active supporter and 'host' of the Junior Rose Parade for decades. 

We look forward to playing a positive role in supporting the Rose Festival in general and the nation's largest children's parade, the Junior Parade, in particular far into the future.

We encourage all children, young adults, parents and those who are young at heart to attend this years Junior Parade on Wednesday, June 03, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hollywood District of northeast Portland.

If you are a public school child (Grades K-12) or public school student parent or guardian please download the complimentary "Early Dismissal & Student Absence" form.

Fill it out and deliver it to your school Principal for review and approval.
