Since its inception, Portland's Rose Festival has included a children's parade. The first Rose Festival in 1907 included a parade of 2000 boys and girls representing 23 schools! Hollywood is the home of the Junior Rose Parade, which became official in 1936. The Hollywood Boosters, one of Portland's oldest and largest neighborhood business associations, was been an active supporter and 'host' of the Junior Rose Parade for decades. We look forward to playing a positive role in supporting the Rose Festival in general and the nation's largest children's parade, the Junior Parade, in particular far into the future. We encourage all children, young adults, parents and those who are young at heart to attend this years Junior Parade on Wednesday, June 03, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hollywood District of northeast Portland. If you are a public school child (Grades K-12) or public school student parent or guardian please download the complimentary "Early Dismissal & Student Absence" form.
Fill it out and deliver it to your school Principal for review and approval. Looking forward to seeing you at the Junior Parade!!! Click here for more information
